Born and raised in Laredo, Texas on the US/Mexico border.

BFA from NYU; MFA from AFI.

Began his career as personal assistant to Martin Scorsese, Nora Ephron, Robert De Niro and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.

He has gone on to direct second unit for Ms. Ephron, Mr. Inarritu, Kevin Macdonald, Ryan Murphy and Mr. Scorsese on the Scorsese-directed television commercial for Chanel's new male fragrance, "Bleu de Chanel." Gomez-Rejon also conceived and wrote the spot.

Has an eye for raw talent -- he discovered most of the nonprofessional actors featured in supporting roles on the streets of Morocco, Mexico and Japan for "Babel," and repeated the same task for the Bali section of "Eat Pray Love."

Directed the "Laryngitis” and the “Michael Jackson” episode of "Glee"; has been invited back to the second season of the show. He has recently directed episodes of “American Horror Story”
